Let's talk CS2...
PopFlash will support CS2 when we are able to.
As of now, we are waiting for Valve to release official third party dedicated servers, as well as the server plugin system. This plugin system is how we manage the matches, track stats, and handle everything in-game.
They unfortunately have not yet given us information on what that new system will look like. It is very likely that we will have to rewrite all in-game PopFlash plugins to support CS2. That's okay.
I'm actually excited to rewrite everything from scratch – my hope is that it won't take too long to get a preliminary version working once that happens, but it remains to see what that will look like.
In the meantime, we do have an option to roll out very basic CS2 support using some unconventional methods. Doing so will mean limited features, lack of complex stats, and perhaps other basic features like GOTV/in-game spectating/and perhaps even demos.
Implementing this is also a big undertaking, and much of that work would likely be thrown away once we get real server plugins. So pursuing that is a balance of time – if Valve releases server plugins next week, is it worthwhile for me to spend the next 4 days implementing a worse version.. only to throw it away before it's even stable?
Who knows -- I certainly don't. So for now, what I can say is that I'm monitoring the situation daily, and if any information comes out I will be on top of it quickly.
If server plugins do come out, I am confident I will neglect much of daily life as well as my general hygiene until PopFlash supports CS2.
